Targeting has largely been automated away. Creative is the last controllable input — and AI makes it testable at speed.
Attention is cheap. Attention that moves people isn't.
Ad platforms now handle most of the targeting decisions. What you still control is the first two seconds, the promise, and the reason to believe it.
Volume without sludge
AI production makes it realistic to test fifteen concepts where you used to test two. That only helps if the concepts are genuinely different — different hooks, different objections, different proof — rather than fifteen colour variations of the same idea.
Write the objection first
Start with the sentence the customer says in their head right before they scroll past. Build the ad to answer exactly that. It's a faster route to a winner than any prompt library.
Then close the loop
An ad that produces enquiries nobody answers is an expensive way to generate frustration. Creative belongs to the same system as the page, the assistant and the follow-up.
